I can't find any good vegan drinking chocolate. I want to make a yummy vegan hot chocolate, but all the chocolate powders contain milk solids or some sort of milk products. Can you guys recommend any tasty vegan hot chocolate powders or syrups??

  1. You can make your own hot chocolate with your favorite "milk" (I use rice milk without all the added vitamins/minerals -don't know what the vitamins are made from), dark chocolate powder (Green and Black's, Dagoba's, and Scarffenburger's), some oil (not olive, something with a light or no taste), and your type of sugar (vegan of course).

Mix the dark chocolate powder in with the oil (I use grapeseed oil for more nutrient dense oil, and no taste-very light). Then add the sugar (I use agave nectar). Then put in the hot milk and stir.

Sometimes I will add a little Kudzu/Kuzu root to the heated milk mixture (Eden brand king of kuzu root starch - no taste to the thickener) to give it a creamy texture.

I also know that Ah!Alaska (with a cute white polar bear on the label) makes a non-dairy chocolate drink mix (and a syrup), that you should get at most health food stores in the USA (I order in the winter through the unitedbuyingclubs.com, that supplies all the stores in the US).

  2. The easiest way is to take a vegan chocolate bar, break it in half and let it melt into soy, almond, rice or hemp milk that you heated up before hand. It's better and richer than any powdered vegan chocolate you can find out there.

The above site has a vegan hot chocolate mix under beverages and drink mixes that you can order.

  3. Use cocoa powder and soy milk.

  4. sorry, wish i could help

  5. Use vanilla soy milk and sweetened chocolate powder until desired color....  you can add vanilla if you want.....

  6. You can get fine chocolate and melt it in soy milk (or your favorite plant milk) with some spices for a good hot chocolate.  Here in the U.S., there are unsweetened cocoa powders and vegan hot chocolate mixes.  You'll probably have to go to Whole Foods or your local natural foods store to find them.

  7. Hi Hala, have a look at this website, chocoholics??????

  8. use soymilk! I love soymilk...

Also, good for you being vegan!

I really want too, but i hafta wait till i'm 18, coz my parents won't let me!*sob*

  9. Hi Take a look here http://www.veganfamily.co.uk/chocolate.h...

  10. Green and black do one, the packet says make up with milk but it works well with a soya milk ( don't use a rice milk - too watery )

  11. I don't know of any pre-made mixes, but I make my own with 1 T. dutch-processed cocoa, 2 T. organic sugar, and 1 c. warm soy milk (you could also use water).  When you make your own, you can adjust the flavour to your preference.  I also like to add a 1/8 t. of peppermint extract - SO much yumminess!

Hey, you know what would be a neat idea: you could make your own vegan hot-chocolate mix using soy-milk powder!  I think I just might try that!

    Best of luck!

  12. 1 cup soymilk (vanilla, regular, ricemilk, whatever- even unsweetened is good)

2-3 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted

    1 tablespoon sugar

    2 tablespoons warm water

This company sells vegan hot chocolate....(It's the one in this pic)
