Vegan smoothies?

ive read that frozen banana can be used to replace dairy in vegan smoothies. What do you like in your smoothies? frozen bananas? soy milk? soy yogurt? just ice???

  1. Water, bananas, ginger and spinach blended up to make a Green Smoothie.

    Otherwise almond milk or rice milk blended with a frozen banana is nice.

    I hate soy.

  2. I like to use frozen fruit for my smoothies. Our favorite is frozen peaches with strawberries. I use apple juice to thin it out so you can blend it up. And for added nutritional value, I add a tablespoon of flax seed oil per person. It adds a creamy texture to the smoothie also!

  3. I'm not vegan, but I like my smoothies vegan...just ice and fruit, mmm. I wanna try a yogurt smoothie someday though.

  4. Try a cup of strawberries, two bananas , half a cup OJ, and then a quarter of a cup of blueberries. It is yummy, vegan, and oh so good for you.

  5. I love frozen strawberries and blueberries with vanilla soymilk :).

  6. You can use tofu to replace dairy. It's actually pretty good !

    Try:

    1 cup blueberries

    1/2 block soft/silken tofu

    1 banana

    1/2 cup orange juice

    honey if desired

    Blend until smooth.

    (you can add other fruits to suit your taste... strawberries, raspberries, & blackberries are also good)

  7. My favourite smoothie - Juice 1/4 of a pineapple, blend with one banana, one mango, strawberries and soya yogurt.

    Add some spirulina if you don't mind spoiling the lovely colour.

  8. My favourite smoothie so far is:

    1 banana (frozen or not, it doesn't make much difference)

    1/2 cup frozen berries

    1 cup soy milk

    You can also add soy yogurt and/or maple syrup

    Mango, soy yogurt and soy milk taste great as well

  11. This morning I had a smoothie for breakfast. This is what was in it:

    1 cup omega 3 enriched soy milk

    2 scoops protein powder

    1 ounce blueberries

    12 ounces apples

    a few ice cubes

    It was pretty good. I would have more of a variety of fruits in it, but the last time I was at the grocery store was monday, so I only had apples and a small amount of blueberries.

  13. Yum.  Strawberries or blueberries are good too.  I love bananas though.  Rice dream is an alternative ice cream.  I bet that would taste great too and make it really sweet.
