  3. Beans, all nuts

  4. Check out a health food marked like Mothers, Henry's, or Whole Foods. They have a vast assortment of faux meats that are made with a base of rice, wheat, beans, or soy. It's a good idea to mix it up so you don't get bored.

There are also a few restaurants that offer high-protein non-meat dishes. They are hard to find. I usually do a search online. Try happycow.net.

  5. Congrats on going veg! Good vegetarian sources of protein include almonds, black beans, cashews, fake meats, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, peanut butter, pinto beans, seitan, soybeans, soymilk, sunflower seeds, textured vegetable protein (TVP), and tofu.

  7. To ensure adequate protein intake include a wide variety of protein-rich foods in yor daily diet such as legumes, soy products like tempeh, tofu and soy-based meat substitutes, grains, nuts, seeds. Also dairy and eggs if you are not a vegan.

Include 2-3 servings of beans, peas and lentils on a daily basis.  Legumes are an important source of lysine, the indispensable amino acid most likely to be dificient in a vegetarian diet.
