  1. Have you tried agnus castus? You can get hold of vegetarian capsules.

It's wonderful for menstrual problems (cramps, sore b***s etc). The only word of caution I would have, is if you don't want to get pregnant, take extra precautions if you do take it. It's kind of like mamma nature's fertility boost! :-)

Also, try soaking a flannel in hot water that you have added a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil to. Then lie down with the hot compress on your tummy.

  2. I didn't know Feminax were non vegetarian.

I keeping tabs on this question because now I need an alternative.

  3. I doubt it but you need to ask a doctor or pharmacist for info on drugs.

  4. Paracetamol (y)

  5. Best ask at the chemists

  6. The best thing for period pain is iron intake.I also eat bananas two days in a row with raisins leading up to my due date. This has helped me no end.Eggs are also good.Try to avoid sugar as this can make the pain worse.

  7. Not really sure what "Feminax" is but ibuprofin tablets apparently have lactose in them as well. Not sure about naproxen...

Turns out though that olive oil has pain relieving properties. A quarter cup or 50g (which isn't that much if you take a few slices of bread and dip the slices or eat with a good salad) is pretty effective.

You could also perhaps try Feverfew, Willow Bark (which aspirin is derived from), and Devil’s Claw, Boswellia (Frankincense), Valerian, and Yucca root are all known for their anti-inflammatory properties. These are harder to research without finding websites trying to sell you herbal mixes.

But perhaps the best "cure" would be taking a 1000 I.U. of vitamin D every day since it's turning out to be responsible for a lot of problems people are having including arthritis, MS, leg pain, depression and much more. My headaches and mood swings went dramatically lower after I started taking D regularly and I felt better everyday. Turns out few people get enough especially in the winter months and the farther they are from the Ecuador.
