Last Night i posted a question asking how long i would have to wait to get my job in the air force. i signed up over the summer and the weighting time period for your job takes awhile. and i asked how long i would probably have to wait and someone responded on Average 6 to 7 months. well here i am 15 hrs later and i get my call for my job!. i dont know if this is just a miracle or what. but now the harsh reality is setting in that i will have to leave my family and only get to see them a few times a year. so im trying to look on the brightside to leaving for basic but its just so hard when the negatives are out weighing the positives.

  1. I concur with the other posts.  Your future is bright, don't look back.  In this day and age where you can call, write, email, and have web-cams you're not leaving your family totally behind.  Your only negative is the fear of the unknown.  You'll be fine, thousands Airmen have went before you and thousands will follow.  You'll do just fine!  Good luck and congratulations!

  2. just thank u r protecing ure family they should be very honored what you have decided to do goo luch ☺☻ :)

  3. The negatives are not outweighing the positives....

you are just getting cold feet...normal...

    keep your head up

  4. I know family and friends are dead important..

But what you're leaving them for is so incredible and worth while

The others in basic will become like you're brothers, almost like a second family, who will be there for you when you are away from home.

Just think of those that applyed and didnt get in, how completely gutted the must be. You're one of the lucky that got in. just think how you'd feel if you hadn't.

    But..Good luck with basic training!
