How do you feel about the way you were portrayed in the book?

I just finish reading The incident of the curious dog in the night-time and i having some difficulties answering some of these questions. This is because the assignment does not give enough instructions. it just says interview of the major character and then it lists questions for me to answer. I have an answer but i do not know if it sounds write or if i wrote it in the write person( first person, second person, third person, etc)

So can anyone give me any advice on how to answer this question if you have read the book or an example.

Thank you

  1. Interview of the major character-

What you're being asked, it seems, is to pretend you are the major character and answer in the first person.

How do you feel about the way you were portrayed in the book?

(I haven't read the book, but I'll give you an idea of what to say)

I liked the way I came across in the book, because...

I didn't like the way the book made me look, because...

e.g. if the author describes the main character as good looking, popular and heroic, you could say:

I liked the way I was portrayed in the book because it made me look like a hero, and someone that everybody liked.  None of the mistakes I made in real life were there, so it made me look better than I really am!

  2. I think what you're supposed to do is pretend you are an interviewer.

You're having a conversation with the main character from the book. Pretend it's a real person. How do they feel about the way the author wrote them in the book?

  3. I haven't read the book.  As far as person:

1st person - I tell the story mself on the page.

"That summer, I went to the shore and met the dog.  The dog belonged to some rickety old man, and he looked up.

"He's a good dog.  Doesn't bark, so I can bring him night-fishin;.  You gotta dog?"

"Yes," I said.  But he's at home with my brother.

2nd person - I (first person) am talking about a second person (that guy over there, he's telling the story).

That summer, the boy went for long walks in the evening.  As he tramped down the trail near the lake, he heard a rustling.

"Awrrr, awrrrr," he heard the soft dog voice.

"Hey, son, you seen my dog?  He took off this-aways..."

"No, mister, but I think I just heard him over there.  Listen, my teacher gave me an assignment, do you think you could help me?"

    Ha - 2nd and 3rd are harder.

    1st - I

    2nd - He

    3rd - They
