I need help. I have a small chihuahua who is very old 11 years old. She is my life.. Today she was attacked by a german shepard... But this is the 3rd attack.. I am very mad and scared.. My dog is going to be alright hopefully, but I WANT THIS EVIL DOG GONE... Is there ANYTHING I can do to get them to put the dog asleep.. The owner of the dog doesnt even have a fence for this vicious dog.. The dog is held by an electric fence supposibly but he either doesnt feel the pain or doesnt care.. When any car drives by the dog is going crazy chasing the car.. THe dog had chased kids.. This dog isnt safe and I hate it and I want to kill it... Is there anything like a petition or something that I can do to get the dog gone??

I live in New Jersey if that helps

  1. you need to call the police or animal control and tell them about it...they can't keep that dog if it is repeatedly attacking your dog or if it is chasing children

  2. tomorrow morning call Animal Control in your area. If you live in a place like I do, rural, and without a Humane Society, it is time to call the cops....If you can Video tape the dog chasing the kids, and TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR DOGS INJURIES, show those to either animal control or the police........

  3. It looks like New Jersey is very specific in defining a dangerous dog:

"a. The municipal court shall declare a dog to be potentially dangerous if it finds by clear and convincing evidence that the dog:

    (1) caused bodily injury as defined in N.J.S.2C:11-1(a) to a person during an unprovoked attack, and poses a serious threat of bodily injury or death to a person, or

    (2) severely injured or killed another domestic animal, and

    (a) poses a threat of serious bodily injury or death to a person; or

    (b) poses a threat of death to another domestic animal, or

    (3) has been trained, tormented, badgered, baited or encouraged to engage in unprovoked attacks upon persons or domestic animals.

    b. A dog shall not be declared potentially dangerous for:

    (1) causing bodily injury as defined in N.J.S.2C:11-1(a) to a person if the dog was provoked, or

    (2) severely injuring or killing a domestic animal if the domestic animal was the aggressor.

For the purposes of paragraph (1) of this subsection, the municipality shall bear the burden of proof to demonstrate that the dog was not provoked."

Your town or county may have different laws - best place to start is contacting the Animal Control Officer for your area and discussing the problem.

  4. Call animal control.  They will help.  If you are aware of the names of any of the kids the dog has chased, give animal control those names.  That dog needs to be put down because it is a threat to the people and animals in your neighborhood.  Good luck, and I hope your little furry friend is doing better.

  5. I had a similar problem ith a neighbor years ago on L.I.  I think putting a complaint against the owner with the police dept should do the trick. They can guide you on how to take action in court.

  6. be happy and focus

  7. I don't know what you could do about that dog.

But, on an unrelated note, if you're ever changing the anti-freeze in your car, be sure to keep it away from your chihuahua.  Aparently, anti-freeze is deadly to dogs if they drink it, but for some reason, the dumb things just lap it right up.  Just something every dog owner should be aware of.

  8. If the other dog caused injury to your dog, then call the police or animal control.  What they decide to do is entirely up to them.
