Vetnam using what currency?

I am first time going to Vetnam, can I know Vetnam using what currency? what is the currency name and symbol?

The country's name is spelled V i e t n a m. Their currency is the Vietnamese dong and the symbol for it is a stylized lower case d that looks like this - ₫.

VND - Vietnamese Dong

I was there in July & they use US dollars as well (especially the local tour in Ho Chi Minh City & the local markets)

The following currencies, besides the VND work well there:

British pound

Australian Dollar

Hong Kong Dollar

US Dollar.

Just be careful: amny places that take the USD especially give you a poor exchange rate.

Remember also only exchange for as much VND as you will spend: they will rarely change it back, and only then at a VERY poor rate.  VND cannot usually be exchanged outside of Viet Nam.
