Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012: Vicky Hurst determined to make headway
American Vicky Hurst is going to participate in the upcoming Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012, set to be played from August 9-12, at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Ohio, with an aim to improve her position in the
world rankings.
Hurst has been struggling to win an LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament since she turned professional in 2008. Although the American star has proved her worth on the Futures Tour, as she
has won five titles so far, she still has to make a name for herself on the LPGA Tour.
Despite having failed to live up to the expectations of her fans, Hurst is now determined to her best in the upcoming event. Winning the tournament may not be on her agenda, but recording a good finish can
help her gain much-needed confidence.
Currently ranked 68th in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, Hurst is making an all-out effort to boost her position, but still has a long way to go before she can cast off her image as an underperformer.
Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012 is likely to stage a tough battle among big names. Key contenders confirmed to participate in the event include Stacy Lewis, current world number one Yani Tseng, Paula Creamer,
Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lang, Brittany Lincicome, Na Yeon Choi, Suzann Pettersen, Laura Davies, Amy Yang, Natalie Gulbis, and I.k. Kim.
Given the tough field, it is hard to predict how the young star is going to cope with the psychological pressure at Highland Meadows Golf Club. However, if she keeps her cool and avoids careless strokes, she
can record a good finish.
In the year 2012, the American golfer has recorded a couple of good finishes. She finished fourth in the 2012 Sybase Match Play Championship.
“It is always an honor to be a part of any well run tour event such as the Sybase Matchplay. This is one of the few events on the LPGA tour schedule that you have to play your way in to,” Hurst said of her
performance at the 2012 edition of Sybase Match Play in one of her interviews.
“Everything was going good – my putting was pretty solid.  That was a really good day for me. In match-play, advancing to Sunday’s round is always a good thing”.
