Video Tape Transer Problem?

Hi, um, I have a digital video camera, and we put tapes into it. The problem is, that once we hook up the camera to the computer, we don't know how to put the information stored on the video tape onto the computer to edit. What software do I need, or what machine do I need to transfer the digital camera's tape into the computer for editing? Please Respond ASAP

If your computer's operating system is on of the Windows varieties, you can use Windows Movie Maker.  It's probably already installed on your computer, if not, you can download it for free from Microsoft:
