Video player problems?

A couple of days ago I fished out some of my old disney classic videos which I was dying to watch.

We have a fairly new video player(its a dvd/video combo) but it acting really weird.

The other day I caught a couple of minutes of the Lion King-which I hadnt seen in years- and it was playing in mint condition. I found my sister watching it again a couple of days later but this time it was a bit flickery at the top of the screen. I put the Lion King on yesterday and the video was completely ruined-it was flickering really badly yet the sound wasnt affected.

I found that every time a video is played more than once on the vcr player, it gets worse and worse.

Whats happening? Is the player eating the tapes or what?

Its really annoying!!!

Whats wrong do you think?

  1. With older video cassettes, the film used for recording cannot withstand the test of time. Humidity and temperature are the major causes for the problems you are seeing.

Despite the fact that the first playing was flawless, the added stress of the unwinding of the tape for a prolong period of time probably ruined the tape.

Have no fear, there are PLENTY of new Disney DVDs available.
