Hi, I'm going on a cross country plane trip with my violin in 2 days. I'm going on Delta and will by bringing it as a carry-on (obviously!) What should I do to protect it?

  1. Just have it in a good hard- sided case and loosen the strings to compensate for any changes in air pressure.

  2. You should keep it in a violin case.

  3. You should call Delta and see if it is allowed as a carry on.  Don't assume it is;  the rules are constantly changing.
