well. my cousin plays the harp and everyone thinks its so cool.

dont get me wrong i love it when she plays the harp but i want a talent to show off too.

i dont want to play the piano or guitar because they are really common instruments so i chose the violin.

my parents are ok with it and im going to go through with it but i was just curiouse about how many years it would take to play really well cause people tell me all the time that it would probably be hard to learn and play?

  1. ive taken violin for 6 years, im pretty good but not good enough for like an orchestra or anything.

  2. It takes about five years to get into the violin, and that's with a good teacher and a very great deal of hard work.

  3. well, it depens. if you practice reguraly you would pick it up a lot faster. everyone hsa to start as a learner.i have been playing violin for 6 years and doing grade 7 this week!arrgh!! and i never practice, so if you practice reguraly, you would be playing well faster than this.

    hope i helped? :) x*x

  4. OOH, the nick name for those is "squawk-box"

because for the 1st year or two that's what they sound like, "squeek-squawk, squawk"

Look into a Mandolin. They are tuned the same as the violin, are plucked with a pick like a guitar, and are not as common as piano or guitar

    check it out . . .
