Question:

Virgin Gorda?

Will be going to Tortola in August. Want to go to the Virgin Gorda and Baths on my own. I have some elderly people in my group who have no trouble walking, but I heard it may be difficult to get to the Baths because of the caves and rocks. Is there a way to avoid the caves and rocks to get to the beach?

  1. There are stairs to get down there or if you are on a cruise ship you can take an excursion there where you will have your boat docked right there so you can snorkle where the boat is so you can check in with your group and they will not feel left out.

You can also get a boat trip out of tortola (like a catamaran) and they can sit on the boat.

Sorry there isn't more options but when your looking to go to beaches and you have people who can't easily walk it isn't the easiest and at least with the boat you'll have some sort of shade from the caribbean sun for your group. This way they see it,  you swim it / Snorkle it  and no one feels left out. Plus no resturants on the beach for a cold drink (all the way back up the stairs)  which the boat will have something to drink and usually does a lunch. Catamarans have areas for decent seating and placement of wheelchairs.  Best of luck and enjoy...they are amazing!!

Don't forget to get an underwater camera. We have a nice one and the pics didn't come out as good as the ones from the underwater disposable camera from cvs gave us.

    8.00 at walmart, cvs, rite-aid, walgreen's...ect.

  2. There are two ways to get to the beach and both would be a difficult walk for the elderly people in your group.

I would read some of the reviews visitors posted on tripadvisor.com and come to your own conclusions since you know what your group can handle.

    Good Luck)
