  1. I have Frostwire, and so far is great...

    No viruses..

Just be careful with videos and movies and stuff.... That's where they hide the most...  I have downloaded videos and more and i still have yet to catch a virus...

But downloading music is less likely to get you a virus..

When you search an artist like for example Lil Wayne.. They will be two music downloads at the very top that say Lil Wayne and Lil Wayne only... Those are prob. Viruses..

So just download if it says the song's name, and most of the times they are like this- Lil Wayne-Lollipop, Lil Wayne-I'm me... Etc...

So dont worry about it man...

  2. Yes it does, it is no more diffrent then limewire. The two programs worh exactly the same, the only difference is their name. You see with peer 2 peer software, the music and other files come from people just like you, they upload their music and other can download it. So if their computer is infected, that mean you can get infected with whatever they uploaded. None of these peer 2 peer program have their own built in scanner to check for infection, so that mean you have no way of knowing if the file is safe until it is on your computer and by that time it's too late, as you will be infected.

So if you want to download music and not have to worry, better to use something like itunes and pay the .99 per song.

  3. They are the same, and both of them are also a good place to get viruses. Uninstalling limewire and installing frostwire will give you no problem at all, it's the content.

  4. You can take my word for it, when I tell you, that frostwire, limewire and all the other p2p programs do not give you viruses. I say limewire in this answer, because I am using it since years. Limewire and frostwire are the same, so everything I tell you is also for frostwire.

The one that can give your new computer a virus is you, by using limewiire the wrong way. P2P programs have a lot of fake files. Fake files are files pretending to be a song or movie, but are viruses.

When you do a search, you always see a lot of small files. Files too small to be a song or movie. Therefore it is very likely, that those small files are the fake files.

To minimize the rist of getting infected, start downloading files larger than 2500/3000kb.

Because nothing is completely safe, make sure your anti virus is up to date. In case a virus slips through you anti vidrus will take care of it.

Do a scan preferably in safe mode, more effective.

You can download Frostwire, or you can download here
