I just put a new vista cpu on my existing network, I am running xp on all other computers except for a fedora server for rx processing. Every time i plug the cat5 into the vista cpu everything is useable for about 15 minutes then my entire workgroup network crashes, no internet, no lifeline, no network period just lone computers. Power cycle the ethernet router and dsl router, unplug the cat5 and it is fixed! I have to leave the vista not connected to the network and only plug it up if really necessary. I need to be able to use it full time.....ANY ideas?

  1. You aren't making any sense. The cpu is on one computer, so if that computer crashes the network wouldn't turn off. You can try to remove the new cpu and install the old one. Will the network not work if you turn off this computer?
