Visual Boy to slow.?

Question

I've recently downloaded visual boy advance 1.8.0 beta3 and it is slow at running gba games. It's speed is at 30-50%. Is it becuase my emulator or the rom? Please help.

Visual boy as in that old console Virtua boy? Virtua BOy is freakin old so therefore expect it to be slow.

Don't play in fullscreen

Play in windowed mode

He means the Visual Boy Advance GBA Emulator, not the Virtual Boy. I think this tends to happen with some GBA ROMs, so that most likely is the problem. I am not sure on how to fix it, however.
