My brother plays guitar and I sing to the songs he plays. I can reach the high notes but they tend to be quiet. How can I strengthen my voice to belt notes out loud and clear without making them sound like Im yelling?

  1. try breathing exercises. such as...

breathe in 4 counts of air, exhale 8

breathe in 4 counts, exhale 16

    in 8 counts, out 20

    and so on.

this will build your air quality and abilities.

also try holding out your notes...starting with the low notes and gradually getting higher.

  2. try to open up your throat more.. (like you are yawning) it lifts the soft pallete, making the notes easier to get out and giving them more clarity. another way to do this is by singing notes on vowels like "ah" or "oh". try that just to get the voice higher and more open. also if you breathe from your diaphram, and use more breath support, the notes will come out alot stronger. good luck! im sure you'll get it :]

  3. voice teacher

  4. R u in lik chorus or choir... if so... ask ur teacher and he or she will help u.

If not go to lik a music store and take singing lessons.

  5. practice breathing.  you need more breath support

  6. Hi, voice teacher here.  To unify the passage between your more comfortable, lower range with your upper voice requires continuous air flow supported by your lower abdominal muscles.  Sounds simple, right?  Simple, yes, but not easy.  This is what singers spend a lot of time (and  money) to achieve, by getting the right teacher to help you.  You don't say your age or gender, but if you do have someone who knows the voice--choir director, voice teacher--make some time to work with them and have them help you.  Be patient--this takes time to achieve and can't be hurried.  Good luck!  Singing is a wonderful way to express yourself, but it can be a cruel master.  Get a good teacher and enjoy.
