Vokey wedge?

i have an ordinary 56* vokey wedge and it is startin to rust is this normal, i thought that only the oil can versions were supposed to rust?

  1. A club finish designed to rust is not done so to reduce glare, it's to encourage spin. Tiny pits are created in the face surface over time as specs of metal flake away, increasing the textured area grabbing the ball cover as it contacts, thus, increasing the spin imparted on the ball.

    Yeah any club can rust eventually, but you really might find it helps you. If you can't stand the look, you can clean it up with steel wool, or send it out to a pro shop or golf specialty store to be refinished.


  2. i have the exact same wedge and i too am experiencing rust...but the thing is that i love it! I am noticing much more spin with the rust than without.

  3. Any golf club will rust, really, unless its stainless steel.  I'm assuming that your Titleist Vokey wedge has a chrome surface, thus it rusts.  However, like you said the oil versions rust (they are made to rust in order to reduce glare).
