Volcanoes ..?

Question

are volcanoes FORMED when magma eaches the earth's surface, where it erupts? like, I need to know how the actual formation of the volcanoe if formed. does anyone know??

Volcanoes are formed when magma rises and leaks into the crust. Eruption is not necessary for something to be termed a volcano.
