Question:

Volleyball Necesseties??

So I'm doing a volleyball day camp every Sunday for the next few months I think. I mean, I'm gonna do it this Sunday and see how I do (since I've NEVER done volleyball out of P.E. before this) then decide whether I want to continue with it.

So there is a chance I will stick with it (most likely I will), and I need to know what to buy. These are the things I have been suggested to get:

Volleyball shorts (spandex & cotton)

Volleyball shoes

Kneepads

Knee socks

A ball to practice at home with

Soo I have like 40 bucks to spend, so I need to know which ones to get. Help! :]

  1. shoes

    kneepads

  2. yeah. I played volleyball this year and this is what I needed:

    volleyball shorts...spandex...reduces sweat on legs

Volleyball shoes...def. because the gel in the shoes keep your balance and feet from stinking...(get an press air

freshner..like from wal-mart or target or a shoe store this is something that has a base that is round and a tube like body and you press in your shoes and it removes any smell and

    smells minty lol

Knee pads most def..but get ones that are shaped for your

knee not square ones because they slide too much and make your knees hurt more than help

Waterbottle...get one that is and easy open not a pop top. those are annoying and take to long to open

knee socks are more for look lol ..but if your playing for a team get your school colors..i get tiedye ones ..lol

    and

a ball..but get one that you can change the pressure so you can prevent injury to forarms...lol

and a net..like a cheap one this helps with my surving...it took

me a bit to get that.

good luck this year and have fun.

Oh and don't get everything at a sporting goods store because everything is high priced because they know you will buy it ...go to like walmart to get the socks...(soccer socks are less thick there) maybe $5 bucks at most)

  3. definitely, definitely get kneepads major neccessity but it doesn't have to be expensive (local sporting goods store works), a ball ( walmart sells them) not the best but they work until you find out if yuo are serious or not, then volleyball shoes, knee socks and lastly shorts as long as you have some sort of shorts you will be fine if you don't they would be first on the list.

start at the first things and go til you run out of money lol.

  4. kneepads are the first thing because if you dont get them and you dive or slide and get a "gym floor burn" you'll wish you had.

well i play volleyball and have volleyball camp and i just use regular cotton shorts because they're the most comfortable and i do prefer spandex but just about anything will do.

i just use regular athletic shoes mine are nike nothing specialized for volleyball

socks are the same way as shorts pretty much. you don't have to have knee socks i mainly us ankle socks but thats really up to you.

and a ball is only like 5 dollars at walmart well cheap ones but if you want a good one i got myn at academy but it was 15 but a ball is good to have so you can practice through out the week sense you only have camp once a week and so you can get a feel for the ball and just practiced.

so overall just about any shorts you have will work (but i dont recomend jean shorts)

volleyball shoes u can use just about any sneakers you have as long as they arent too worn out

kneepads are a must no exceptions

knee socks are optional any socks will do

    and a ball is helpful

  5. hey, ivy here again

since your a beginner just wear

    your regular tennis shoes

    regular socks

kneepads (for sure!)- thats maybe 20$

any kind of shorts, it doesn't matter (soccer shorts, basketball shorts, spandex, etc)

you seem really worried, but don't be nerous. no one's gonna care what you wear. it's ok.

  6. shorts. kneepads and a ball

and if u just have normal running shoes or tennis shoes those would be good for now in till u get more money

  7. The only real necesseties on your list are kneepads and the ball. Some people like the socks so there legs don't get all scrapped but you don't need them. And my volleyball shoes cost me $200. The cheapest pair out there are $40, and you don't need them. As for the shorts you can wear whatever shorts. I would suggest soffe shorts or even guys basketball shorts.
