  1. "Volleyball is a game of angles"

Aha exactly....has many angles, in various ways, ball speed, block is 90 degree (I think), in defence is 100 degree and how the body moves

    its all geometry

  2. It uses geometry concepts a lot for defense. Back row defenders look at blocks, and use geometry to figure out what the size of the court is that they will need to defend.

For every inch an outside blocker pushes over the net it takes away 7 and 1/2 inches of hittable area on the cross court sideline. So a foot of penetration can take away 7 and 1/2 feet.

Also, geometry is used a lot in underhand passing. The angle of the platform effects the trajectory of the ball. So passers are always trying to find the correct angles.

  3. Geometry is present with the different heights and locations of sets as well as trajectories of different serves.

  4. Where the ball needs the be hit, how hard and angles.

  5. so so so so soso MUCH...

    volleyball is all geometry

  6. Volleyball is a game of angles, so it would take forever to explain how they fully connect

but one example is during blocking...when you go up to block you need to see where the ball is set on the other side so you know where to set your block depending on if you want to block line or cross court...and if the ball is set far outside the antenna then you need to set the block closer to the middle because there is no angle for the hitter to hit is down the line at all
