  1. Bounce the ball on the ground and think of where  u want it keep square up ur body. Ur hand should sitff because u do not wan to slap the ball  but u  should know how to since ur goin to regionals

  2. i'm no pro but i do love volleyball,  my own opinion would be,  you want it a lil' high so they can't block your serve,  i always hit with a stiff hand for control

    Good luck on regionals

  3. keeo your eye on the ball and the directionyour hand is faceing when u hit the ball. dont look at the other team it will distract you nad you could swing WAY off. hit it stiff. you need power so relaxed might not even get it over the net.

  4. How do you make contact with your serve? Are you using the heel of your palm, or are you using an open hand (topspin)?

For more consistency, when you step through after making contact with the ball, keep your shoulders and hips square at the target.

Ball trajectory is determined by location of strike after tossing. The closer you hit the ball to the center of the ball (parallel to ground), the lower the trajectory.

Whether your hand is stiff or relaxed does not matter. What does matter is keeping your fingers out of the way if you are using the heel of your palm.

Practice against a wall with enough distance (30') to simulate 1/2 a volleyball court, and you should be OK by tomorrow.

shoot me an email if you have any more Q's. Good luck.

  5. ok... no offense... but those other answers that i read were umm... not so good... ok first of all you need to follow all the way through and make sure you're snapping your wrist, like when you hit.  If you dont follow through, then the ball is going to go further and not go down! If you want it to go lower then you need to hit it when it's a little lower coming down then you usually would. Also if you want it to go to a certain spot then you need to point your shoulder that you DONT serve with in that direction. And keep your hand stiff, but your wrist relaxed! hope that helps

  6. ok wut i was taught i aint no pro throw it out in front of u and like a inch above ur finger tip. also wut happens 2 me is i have sum problems like thats 2 but i dont know wut way u serve out like right side or middle. like i serve out on ride side and im a middle so i 2 out side serving position and serve there 4 awhile till i get in momentom again or if ur serving 2 far take how ever far u serve out steps back or snap ur wrist more if u jump serve and serve it out u need 2 pike more. Use a stiff hand cuz we have sum 1 on our volleyball team that uses a floppy relaxed hand and it barly goes 10 ft. ya 2day is our last game of volleyball so i hope i helped u!!!!!!

  7. More stiff. Just visualize scoring. It really helps.

  8. I'm no pro but maybe after your practice go to a volleyball team that is really good, PAY ATTENTION TO WHO IS SERVING, maybe you'll learn what they do to serve, that might help?

  9. i play for my school and what i do is keep my hand relaxed until I hit the ball...after hitting you stop your hand in mid air..hit the center also and you will get  a serve that is quite straight and hard to receive as it "shakes" or "wobbles" in the air.

  10. try throwin the ball more out in front of you, that will change the height of the ball and itll be more of a line drive. also if u start with ur hand behind ur head and hit it with ur hand comin from there, then itll give it a little top spin, so itll stay in bounds more often.

also, ur hand should be fairly relaxed, but not to the extreme where its like u have no bones haha. it should be more relaxed than stiff.

hope these tips help u out and good luck at regionals

  11. focus on where you want the ball to go.  If you are on the way to regionals you have already served a million times this season.  Your hand and arm know what to do.  Get your mind off arm and ball and focus on destination.  Bounce the ball 2 or 3 times while you THINK
