Volume on computer won't work?

So, It's been happening alot lately. I'll be sitting here on my computer and the volume will stop on websites. AIM still bleeps and everything. Meaning: It's not my volume, since Everything but the internet is making noise. I don't get it. Even when i go on youtube some videos Will just STOP and I'll have to move that little circle thing to go farther in the video. Which I really don't get how it interfered with the videos. If i put my computer on standby for like 1hr it comes back, then after about 30 minutes or so my volume just stops working on myspace again. Then I'll turn off my volume and still it won't work. I don't know how to get it to work. And i don't get why AIM/AOL works and not myspace, youtube, saynow, or any noise included sites. ;] Help.

Oh yeah, and sometimes youtube video's won't even start. Nor will my myspace song. Or any of that. And i'll be sitting there waiting. Even on myspace music, The music won't play so I'll move the blue thing so it goes farther into the song and then it'll play for 5 seconds without volume and just stop.

  1. Windows Media Player Volume is probably turned down...

open it up and check where the volume level is

The YouTube  video pauses can often be resolved by shutting down your browser & reopening it. (effectively flushing the memory used by the browser)

  2. If you are using Vista, click on the sound icon on your taskbar and click mixer. Turn up your web browser to the same volume as your AIM, ect.

  3. Make sure your Sound Driver isn't disabled, it may have inadvertently disabled itself during shutdown:

Go to Device Manager (Start> RightClick My Computer> Properties> Hardware Tab> Device Manager) and right click on your sound driver and choose enable.

If you don't know the name of you Sound Driver, so to Start> Run> dxdiag. Now go to the Sound Tab and any sound hardware installed is listed.

If that still doesn't work, the driver may have been uninstalled. If so, go to your computer's manufacturer's website and go to the "Support" section. There should be a link for drivers. You will need to know your computer's model, but once you enter that it will give you and option to download any missing drivers. Just find the Sound Driver and install it.

    Hope that helps =]

  4. That happened to me with my laptop and I had to shut it down and pull out the battery, and then I put it back in.
