Shallow means not very deep. It can be quite advantageous, e.g. a shallow pool is safe for swimming and a shallow ore is easy to mine

Shallow, very slightly convexed, is the most widely used. It is used in cases where the skin surrounding the stoma is smooth and flat. Post-operatively Shallow is almost always used.
