Who loves them and why?

i love them.when i was in arabia,i saw the horses and how they Araby care about them and love them.they arab r nice people.

I love Arabian horses because of their beauty and sometimes-fiery nature, and because of the genetic contribution they have made to other breeds of horses.

I owned an Arab gelding for 20 years, until his death last year at the age of 24.  He was a wonderful horse, very athletic and with a great personality, and I loved him dearly.

I was lucky enough to attend Cal Poly Pomona university at a time when the Arabian Horse unit there still had some of the old Kellogg-bred horses.  Farlowa, a son of Abu Farwa, represented the physical type of the old-style Arab:  on the small side (about 15 hands, maybe a tad under), close-coupled and deep-chested, compactly built with a long, level croup and a strong, graceful neck.  He had a beautiful, intelligent head that was all Arab without being so extreme as to be a caricarture.

Cal Poly also had Kello-Gwalor, a son of Polish import *Gwalior, representing the type of modern Arab:  taller (16 hands), more slender-bodied and longer through the back, longer-legged and with a longer neck and a head more gone to extremes:  bigger eyes, bigger nostrils on a smaller muzzle, more "dish" to the face, bigger ears.  He was a beautiful horse, but when you stood him side-by-side with Farlowa, you could really see how the Arab "type" had changed through the infusion of Polish blood.

I have to say that I'm more partial to the older physical type of Arab than to the type that's likely to get the championships nowadays.  I think the older, Kellogg/Crabbet-type Arabs were better all-around using horses than the type that's now bred for the extreme "park" action and is almost exclusively used as a show horse.  (My horse was closer to the Kellogg horses in conformation than to the Polish horses, although he was about half Polish in breeding.)

I love Arabs but I'm a little wistful about what they used to be when I see the kinds of horses that are in vogue with the judges today.

i love arabian, they are beautuful and majestic creatures. i own an araban and a half arabian/quarter horse, and they are the most intelligent horses i've ever known.

I think they are beautiful horses with an attitude to match. I owned a half arabian mare and loved her, but had to sell her last year because I wanted to go in a different direction than what she wanted to do. Yes, I do love arabian horses. I enjoy watching their fluid movement.
