AL: I'd give it to Cliff Lee right now. His K/BB ratio is the highest and he's been extremely consistent. I don't like giving the award to closers because I feel starters are much more valuable. They decide the outcome of the game while closers need for their team to do well in order to close the game.

NL: It's too close to tell. Right now, the contenders are Brandon Webb, Dan Haren, Edinson Volquez, Tim Lincecum, and Ben Sheets. I'd give it to Volquez now though because he leads the NL in ERA and he plays in a hitter-friendly park.
