On 7/11 my account balance was $4.51 I then made a purchase from Follett books for $3.18 leaving my account balance at $1.33. I then made purchase from Wing Zone on 7/13 that left my account at -12.34 plus an overdraft fee so it would be -47.34 .Now why was the order of purchase reversed..I know it was so I be charged an overdraft fee twice. I do not think this is fair b/c at the time of the wing zone purchase on 7/14 the website said my account was at $1.33, when I called Wachovia I was told my account was at $1.33 and from my own check balancing records my account was at $1.33.

Do you think they wil credit me for one of the overdraft charges. I purposely overdrafted when i made the wingzone purchase but not with the follett book purchase..?

  1. First off let me tell you that you are no alone in this financial bind of paycheck to paycheck. But don't give away money that you already don't have. Sacrifice and stop giving the banks free money. 2nd it depends on where the purchase is coming from and how fast the company puts the charge in. Did you use debit or credit. Credit take a few more days to post where as debit comes out like cash. I doubt you will get your credit back the banks live for these outrageous fees.

  2. they don't care about small fishes like us man!!  and how in the world you know you have so little money in the account and still overdraft it?

  3. Wachovia = Walk all over ya. They suck

  4. Dude, those must have been some good wings.

Banks always process charges highest to lowest. That's their system.  And yes it does result in more overdraft fees.

All you can do is go to the branch and ask to speak to the manager.  Tell then your story and ask if they can take one of the $30 fees off.

Suggestion:  Put $100 in your account, then subtract $100 off of your register.  Pretend like the money is not there.  That way you're less like to have this problem again.

  5. All banks process charges highest to lowest. That way the highest item of the day has a chance to be covered. Think about it you over drafted and in turn they paid the bill for you so they would rather owe small amounts than large amounts. Keep in mind a small thing like dinner is not a necessity and now it cost you almost $50 for dinner, no wonder you are in debt. You need to watch what you spend and put your priorities into perspective.

  6. WAlk all over you is know to be the worst for this. I switched banks b\c of this issues.

My advice is to  change banks immediatley.

  7. You can try but dont count on it wacavoia is known for this.
