Wake surfing tips?

i'm in my 2nd season wakeboarding with no problem getting up. I tried wake surfing last weekend and couldn't get up. i was told to use a wide stance, which didn't help. tips for me? tips for the boat driver?

  1. Put as much weight as possible on one side of the back of your boat.  Try it with your wakeboard a few times to get the feel of the speed and getting up.  Then move to a wakeskate if you have one.  The shorter board should help you develop the muscle memory to get the feel of getting up with the wakesurfing speed and shape of the wake.  The wakeskate will help you get familiar with getting up without the bindings.  A wide stance helps but you need to just get the feel of getting up, just like you did when you learned to get up on a wakeboard. Just takes practice, practice, practice.
