Wakeboarding tricks?

Question

First off I need some help jumping higher on the wake board. second, if anyone knows how to do ANY tricks coulb you please share how to do them with me?

Not getting enough POP off the wake is usually the reason your not getting the air you want. I wouldn't try any tricks until you learn how to properly POP. You need to concentrate on proper edging toward the wake. There is an instructional DVD called The Book (www.thebookdvd.com). It has more detailed description on what I'm trying to tell you along with visuals. Learning how to charge the wake and POP off the top is key in learning any tricks. Don't try to jump up, you want to use the wake like a ramp, then POP off the top. Once you learn how to jump wake to wake then try tricks like 180's and 360's. Your scarecrows and tantrums are probably going to be the first flip tricks. Just try getting good at big airs first, maybe landing in the flats. Wake or Die.

Master the wake to wake jump before you do any type of trick. This is the building block for just about every trick out there. Firm up towards the wake and keep the handle down near your waist for added "pop". Agressive turns and holding that turn approaching the wake will set you up for a nice "pop" at the wake.  If you find that you are consistently landing on the "crest" of the wake or not even getting close to the other side of the wake, shorten your rope a bit until you get comfortable landing in the pocket on the far side of the wake.

I'm pretty sure how high you jump off the water depends on your timing, your speed, and the angle you approach the wake...  The tricks however... you kinda just have to figure them out on your own.  I used to watch it on ESPN, online, and then a few highlight reels... that gave me some good ideas to go out and try...  One good tip.. don't be afraid to crash... it only stings a little...
