Walking the Fox Terrier?

How much would I need to walk a Fox Terrier dog that weighs around 5 kgs?

I'm an American and don't know a kg from an mg, sorry, but with fox terriers I think running them might be best.  Will yours run safely alongside your bicycle?  Be sure to bring water and don't over-do.

Fox Terriers are very 'busy' dogs and need a lot of exercise, on lead as well as off, perhaps in the region of half an hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon then even a short walk on lead (10 mins) before settling down at night.

For about a half an hour twice a day would be the best, maybe even more, but I don't think only one walk a day would be bad.
