Wall oven again

Question

our westinghouse we discovered needs a new fan motor, the element went bright red the other night where normally it never does do you think it needs a new thermostat or would it be the fact that the fan wasnt working correctly? also there is a lot of blackness around the insulation and wires at the back of the element wires as it has been singed, is this a sign of danger or is it perfectly normal? thanks
