There is little doubt in my mind that Anderson would emerge victorious -- probably by TKO.

This would likely be a standup war and Anderson outclasses Wanderlei in almost every way except power. Furthermore, The Spider matches up well against Wanderlei very well stylistically.

Wandy likes to stalk and throw vicious haymakers -- usually resembling hooks. The taller, longer-armed Silva (Anderson) prefers to utilize straight punches that compliment his long reach and excellent aim. I see this fight playing out a bit like Wanderlei vs Chuck, except that Anderson is more accurate than The Iceman and throws better combinations.

Wandy would get picked apart and would eventually succumb to the pin-point striking of The Spider before the end of the 2nd Round.

Even if they go into the clinch, I see Anderson coming out of it better. He could pummel with the best of them (Greco Wrestler, Dan Henderson), and his height and physique gives him an advantage over Wanderlei.

They're so closely matched I'd have to say whoever prepped harder for it.  Off the shelf if the fight had to happen today, Wanderlei because he is stronger and more aggressive.  Anderson is a bit quicker and a lot more technical, so if he spent 90 days working with big brawlers like Alistair Overeem or Josh Barnett who would just beat on him the way Wanderlei would, he'd probably have the chin and athleticism to take the fight and win it.

Anderson Silva is an awesome explosive fighter and will only continue to get better. However if they fought in the near future I think Wanderlei would win. He would be just too much for him. Watch the Wanderlei vrs Rampage fights. Just insane.

Wanderlei by knockout early 3rd round. This would be an amazing match to watch two phenominal strikers.

Wanderlei has proving that he can stand toe to toe with anyone. Silva really hasn't done that yet. Don't get me wrong he is winning his matches with ease but besides for the Henderson fight I am not impressed.

His previous fights included Franklin,lutter,marquardt and leban. I think almost everyone would agree besides for hendo, Wandy would destroy all those fighters with ease..

I really think Anderson Silva needs to move up in weight to show his true potential.

And for the one guy saying Wandy is old, get your facts straight! Anderson Silva is older!!

In this world anything can happen by a supreme will, but naturally I would give the advantage to Wanderlie. Wanderlie is the only guy that can handle guys like Machida and Anderson, because he goes right into them rather than keep a distance. He is known for going toe to toe. Although anderson would probably land some very nice blows, I see Wanderlie taking those and counter attack which will be too overwhelming for Anderson. Wanderlie is just to Aggressive. I would say Wanderlie by TKO second round.
