Want another handgun.

Question

I bought a hi-point 9mm about a week ago and like it so far. For my next handgun, should i get another hi-point .40 or .45 cal or like a revolver of some kind? Need some opinions please.

I like my Sig Saurs.  They aren't all that big, but mine won't jam.

I prefer revolvers, since you like firearms of those calibers try a .357 magnum, you can fire both .357 magnum and .38 special rounds out of the same gun, and they come in large and small frames. BUT has it been 15 days since you last purchased a handgun? You have to wait 15 days before you can purchase another...it's the law (unfortunatelty)

Of course, it really depends on what you want it for.  But if it were me, I'd go with a revolver for a change of pace.  I've always been a big fan of the Colt Python in .357.  But if you want a different caliber, maybe a Ruger or S&W 44 Magnum.  Ruger also makes a single action Vaquero in 45 Colt.  I've always been attracted to that as well.

why stop at .45?

Ruger.357 has plenty stopping power and is a nice looking revolver.

And as Edgar law pointed out will also accommodate a .38 round.

I would stay away from Hi-Point if I were you.  Hi-Point's are used by most crack heads and dope dealers, due to the fact that they are cheap firearms.  Thus, you never know when they are going to fail.  Stick with a more reputable brand such as Smith and Wesson, Glock, Colt, Springfield, etc.  Revolvers are nice.  If you are going that route, try a .357 magnum.  S&W has many frame sizes in this caliber, making it easy to carry for people of different weight, height and shape.  Depending how experienced you are in maintaining control of your gun while firing it, you could go for the .40 or the .45.  The .45 will definitely get the job done.  However, so will the .40.  If you are looking for stopping power with lower recoil, the .40 is the round for you.  Good luck!
