Want to build a professional looking webpage what software is the best?

I have Dreamweaver but do the professional use this software? ,

Ive realised that a lot of sites use vectors as a web layout is that used in Photoshop then imported to Dreamweaver??

Yes, I use dreamweaver.. I also use visual Studio depending on what language I'm writing in.

For vector graphics I use Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop and Fireworks for normal graphical work. I would never use Photoshop to create "Web layouts".. It's messy and the wrong tool for the job.. You can create websites in Microsoft Word too, but you end up with substandard results.. Use the right tool for the right job.. And learn a programming language.. Start with HTML and CSS, then move onto PHP and ASP.NET (because that allows you to create intranets.. far less competition and far more lucrative) and also learn SQL, preferably Microsoft Transact SQL for the same reason, by MySQL is a good place to start if you want to build websites for extranets.

I've linked to a few good beginners books for you, just to give you an idea what to look for, start with the top one and work your way down.. There's no "Easy way out" with web programming.. People who take shortcuts don't make money and make cheap looking websites.. Top dollar comes to those who know what they're doing, and do it well.. But you have to start somewhere, we all did! All it really takes is imagination and a bit of perserverence.

dreamweaver is fine if your coding is up to scratch. Mind u it is fine if you want to WYSIWYG (what u see is what u get) it as well. i recommend dreamweaver....
