Wanting to stay in Celebraton FL?

Question

I am wanting to stay at celebration later in the year, Is a car essential to get around the parks (I'd prefer not to spend a fortune on taxi's) and is it essential that the driver must have a credit car to hire a car as I don't, my partner has the credit card but he doesn't drive?

Your partners card should be fine as long as someone pays. You relly do need a car its so easy to get about. There is a nice hotel in celebration but I beleive no short term rentals. If I can be of furhter help please contact me through my web site

Yes, you will need a car to get from Celebration to the parks.  It's not walking distance.  You will have no problem using your partner's card to book the car, though.  You will be asked when you rent the car who the driver(s) will be, so you will just list yourself.

I personally don't recommend hotel shuttles, as they are a bit unreliable, and you have to plan your day around their schedule.

Unless you have the money to waste, Celebration is not a wise choice for the wallet. One heck of a place to take a day to walk around the shops downtown in the marketplace. Make sure to say hello to Joe at the Post Office. It is essential that you have a car while down here. I can offer you a free car upgrade by visiting the site below. Much as Celebration is pretty and quiet it is also out of the way and has very limited amenities for a stay more than a couple of days. I was there a couple of weeks ago and know it well but i would go stir crazy if i had to stay overnight. I would recommend you stay closer to the action and visit Celebration as a day out ( well a morning or evening at least). A car is essential around Orlando as distances between attractions, restaurants and shops make it impractical to use taxi's or public transport. America runs on credit cards, i think they must be born clutching one. I don't have a credit card but use my Debit card instead so if you take one of these at least you will be fine. The Celebration Hotel has a shuttle that runs to Disney. You won't need a car. There is plenty of dining in Celebration that is reasonable as well.

$170 / night is not high for that type of hotel.

Mona Lisa is another Celebration hotel option but it is not downtown.

I own three homes in Celebration and for the four times i got there a year we own seven cars there. so yes it is vital if your staying in celebration to go to disney world with a car.
