  1. I supported getting Saddam out of there. We accomplished that. Obviously we can't just pull out because the insurgents will rush back in and 4114+ Americans will have died for nothing. But I hope that the Iraqi forces can take over SOON. I'm sure Iraq is war-torn and a mess right now as well as not very safe.

I hope you can return to a quiet, peaceful land someday soon and the American soldiers can come home.

  2. In my opinion, the US attacked Iraq to control oil resources in the region. The premise for the attack was a newly invented concept called 'anticipatory self-defense' based on the existence of weapons of mass destruction that Rumsfield claimed to exist in the country. Most experts at the time laughed at the notion of WMD, and now it is very clear that these WMDs were fictional.

The war was illegal. UN Article 51 does not apply. The US feels that people and resources throughout the world belong to them. The US feels it is above international law, even though its constitution commits the US to honor its treaty agreements under the UN. Clearly, the Bush administration could be impeached in any of five areas.

The US should withdraw corporations and military completely and pay compensation to families. Some claim that the US is offering security, but the only security US forces offer are in areas of its own interests in the green zones. The US government should honor the wishes of Iraqi and US citizens and fully withdraw without hesitation.
