I seem to recall a bunch of times in the Bible where he had problems with people who said "do as I say, not as I do."

  1. Isnt that why he got cruified in the first place.

He called all the pharaises hypocrites and they got pissed off and crufited him

  2. He  wasn't  silent , as  he  pointed  out  the  hypocrisy  of  the  religious  organizations  of  his  day.   THANK  YOU  D'S

  3. render unto Caesar that which is Caesars, and to God what is God's

The Pharisee's tried to give him a loaded question and he gave the best and most appropriate response.

  4. Yes, Jesus denounced hypocrisy. The following were said by Jesus:

Matt. 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and uncleanness.

Mark 12:15 (Concerning the pharisees trying to trick Jesus about paying taxes to Caesar) But Jesus knew of their hypocrisy.

Luke 12:1 "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy."

Matt. 7:5 (Also Luke 6:42) You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Matt. 6:2 ...when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets as the hypocrites do...

Matt. 6:5 When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites...

Matt. 6:16 do not look somber as the hypocrites do...

Matt. 15:7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right...

Other verses in Matthew include: 22:18, , Most of chapter 23, and 24:51.

In Luke you have (not counting synoptic verses from Matthew) Luke 12:56 and Luke 13:15.

Paul has Galatians 2:13, and Peter addresses this in 1 Peter 2:1.

Many other places the concept is addressed, but may not use the word "hypocrite" (Greek Hippocrates)

  5. Jesus spoke out about hypocrites - particularly religious hypocrites - quite often. I wish his followers would pay more attention to him on this subject.

Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Mat 6:6  But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Those who try to showcase their faith and push it into the public square for their own power or vanity will have no reward other than what men give them. This atheist finds that advice to be wise.

  6. No, he was not silent about hypocrites, nor creating a proselyte, which is a one world belief ! We are to have respect for our fellow man, respect is, re/bind to+ specter, which is our fellow man, when I say man, I mean both male and female! It also tells us, when something is found that does not belong to you, to hold it until you find who it belongs to! That being said, look at the word escheatment, which every state has, giving the state the ability to steal legally? It is called abandonment? Who would abandon something of value if they knew about it? Stocks, Bonds, Property, just who is who?

  7. No

  8. A non-existent person is silent about everything.

  9. The account of jesus itself is broken. In fact it's well accepted by most christian academics even

  10. His followers should take that advice.

  11. How many times did He verbally thrash the priests in the temple?

  12. No, in fact He was openly vocal concerning the hypocrisy of the religious establishment.

They were obedient to the law, but at the same time ignored the spirit of the law, justice and mercy.

  13. Jesus is a myth, so "he" is silent about *everything*.

  14. He did confront them and rebuke them for that. But he also told the people they must listen to them if they are speaking the Word of God...

2"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. 3So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. (Matt 23)

God's Word is true even when spoken by a hypocrite.

  15. Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment"; and "You have rightly judged."; and "Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?"; and "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of h**l as yourselves". (Jesus' Words in John 7:24; Luke 7:43, 12:57 and Matt. 23:15)
