Question:

Washing and drying wool

I have a wool jacket that I recently purchased. I washed it by hand and set it on a rack to air dry. When it was completely dry I took it off the rack and noticed that it smelled HORRIBLE!

So, how do I dry this wool jacket correctly so that it doesn't smell?

  1. Spray the inside with fabreze and place in clothes dryer ( no heat cycle) to refresh, about 15 mins.

  2. Wool usually isn't very pleasant smelling when it gets wet.  I would recommend you take it to a professional.  They will not only get it clean but they will 'block' it so it doesn't loose its shape.  (If it hasn't already) It tends to shrink easily so don't use any heat on it and don't hang it up. It should dry lying flat.  Good luck!!
