Question:

Water park tomorrow? Bringing a friend?

okay, I'm fourteen. My best friend is fifteen.

I've been working for the past three summers. I've saved up, a good amount of money. My mom always raised us (her children) never to be lazy and go without a job. Tomorrow were going to a local water park. It's 30 dollars per person. My sister is pregnant and can't go, so i invited a friend. But her mom has been out of work since the end of June and hasn't found a job. My mom & I find that pure laziness. But if wouldn't be just fun to go with my mom and myself. So my best friends mother can't afford to pay the 30 dollar fee. My mom offered to pay it. but she said to me "I'm doing this for you, so you have a good time. Not for your friend" and it makes me feel kind of guilty. Like my mom is going to pay 90 dollars tomorrow. I of course would pay for myself & my friend but my mom would never accept it. The thing is, my best friends mom is living off the government and every time this girl comes to my house, i'm always paying for dinner and my mom is always driving and if she isn't i'm paying for our bus rides, I'm overall, sick of it. I work so i'll be able to buy a car, not to pay for her stuff. I'm feeling kind of guilty and want to back out of going and instead go to do something cheaper. But i know after tomorrow i'm not paying for her stuff anymore.

Should we just go to the water park?

Should i say something to her?

help?!

  1. I think the best thing to do is to go to the water park and enjoy yourselves. After that you need to tell her that you don't feel comfortable paying for her anymore when you, yourself had to go out and earn your own money by hard work. Suggest that she find a job and give her a little space for a while. I suggest that you buy your mom a thank-you present (a decent one) for paying for her all those times in the past and driving her everywhere. It would be a really sweet thing to do. You sound like you are a great saver with money =D.

  2. go to the water park and have fun, but after that, cut her off.  i wish i could find a      like you, at least, older any ways.  she is going to learn from her mom that she can have someone else pay her way through life, and it sounds like she is already doing that now.  tell her she needs to get a job like you or find another person to leach off of.
