  1. Ever hear the saying that you shouldn't swim after eating?    Essentially, you don't want to fill your stomach before you do any exercise.  Your stomach is just a sac, and it's stressful to have you jumping around with a heavy weight in the sack!

If you're sloshing, and feel sick, this isn't good.  You need to change your habits.

If you're going to run first thing in the morning, don't eat a meal.  Just eat some high carb snack so you have food energy for your body to burn.   Marathoners eat Snickers Bars, not scrambled eggs and waffles.

This kinda gross, but I remember Greta Weiss running in the NY marathon years ago, and she had drank too much liquid, so it was squirting out as she ran along.  She'd grab tissues from people along the route, make a quick graceful swipe across her legs, drop the tissue, and keep on running.   After 1/2 an hour her water balance was back to normal, and she eventually won the race.

Obviously you (and Greta) can have too much liquid in the stomach.   Are you drinking lot of coffee or water before you go out?  Since you're dehydrated first thing in the morning, you have to drink something, but if you limit it to a cup of liquid, then carry along a bottle of water to sip on as you go, this is better.

  2. The reason you are hearing the sloshing sound is because you dont have anything in your stomach except liquid. You need to eat before you run even if its just a small snack like toast.

  3. Do you eat before your run?
