Wats wrong with our video camera?

well we have this video camera and everytime we turn it on it dosent show a picture its just completley black, the lens cap is off dont worry, and we dont know wat 2 do, we really wanna make vids for youtube but its not working!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have the manual?? If not see if you can download one from the manufacturer of your camcorder. It will tell you what to do.
