is the wavemaster adjustable punching bag good for tae kwon do?

i am a white belt just started a week ago

i weigh 80 lbs

13 years old

idk what my height is...

is this a good punching bag to practive kicks + punches?

  1. Yes, it is. It's very long and tall so you can kick at pretty much any height.


  2. It's alright at first, but once you learn how to put alot of power into your kicks, the wavemaster becomes a bit too easy to knock over--even with sand in it. (water in the base isn't as effective for keeping it up as sand).  

    Maybe filling the base with small rocks or something would work better for keeping the bag standing. (I'd think filling it with pebbles would make it heavier than filled with sand)

  3. i would say it a good thing to have because it will help you get used to actually hitting something with your kicks and punches. but i think once you get a bit bigger and stronger, it will be too light. if you want to be tough you would want an actual martial arts/ boxing heavy bag , to strengthen your shins and feet. it hurts a bit but you get used to it and it makes all your moves much more powerful. i practice karate and TKD and i find it a very good thing to have because then you can train without a partner.
