  1. With the disturbance of a move AND a new dog it is likely your cat will get freaked out.

I would wait a while before getting the dog.

    Good Luck!

  2. I JUST got a new puppy a week ago, and I have a year old cat.  She LOVES the little dog.  She won't let it play rough with her, but she'll sit for hours on top of the desk to watch the puppy play.  It's her new form of entertainment!

If you're going to move in a year, it would be best to get the puppy right now (very soon)... or after you move.

Either way, the two will soon get used to each other, and it'll be so much fun to watch the dog go nuts trying to play with the cat.  Cats aren't as social, but mine is happy just to sit and watch what's going on.

Best of luck.  Animals are so much fun :)

  3. I wouldnt get a dog, Right after you have moved. Wait until you have all settled in for a while then buy yourself a dog. You dont want your cat running away. xx

  4. sounds like a lot of change all at once, I would wait till after everyone is settled nicely at the new place before trying to introduce a new animal into the mix, especially a dog.

  5. Most cats, are more independent than dogs. The prefer to do things their way and will let you know when they want attention. Most dogs on the other had crave attention. We have 2 dogs and cat, everyone gets a long just fine.

  6. It is depended on the cat's feels.  When you get the dog, the cat might feel jealous because you are playing with your dog.  Use your wise to make sure that all of you pets are happy each around.
