We have a HP pavilion

We have a HP pavilion dv2000. When turned on the screen became static (snow) and went black. Now when turned on no screen comes up and the wireless light won't show and the caps lock lite won't light up. There's no sound. The DVD door will open when button is pushed. We tried to hook it up to an external monitor but no luck there. Any ideas?
