We want to have a backyard campout for 2 nights, the weather is a low of 66*F and slight WSW winds. And twomorrows is a low of 58*F.

Is this too cold for a campout? We'll be sleeping in a tent.

  1. no its not. i mean your in your backyard so if you get cold than just go inside. i wouldnt want that to happen so get so pads and bags and you should be fine.

  2. Not at all!  It sounds like perfect camping weather to me - and I wish it was that way where I live.  In Louisiana right now, average temperatures during the day are 90 to 95 and at night are 80 to 85.  This makes for miserable camping weather!

Be sure to have layers of clothing available - since this is a backyard campout, that shouldn't be a problem.  If your local ordinances permit, build a small campfire for a bit of cozy warmth, roasting marshmellows, and telling a good ghost story.  Make a batch of hot cocoa - that's always a hit with kids.

Wherever you are, have a ball.  Camping out in the backyard is a great and inexpensive way to enjoy the outdoors.  Good for you!
