Webcam question?

I'm thinking about getting my dad and I a webcam. He lives in another state and I'd love for him to be able to see his granddaughter. How do they work? Do you have to buy a lot of equipment? Can you use a regular phone to call and then you see the person? How does it all work, anyway?

First download windows live messenger.

Once you have a web cam simply put the disc included in the ROM and it will install, its really simple to follow the instructions. It will then tell you when to plug in your web cam, there you go all set and ready to go (:

To use youre webcam you can send cam invited to your online contacts on msn, simply by clicking the webcam icon at the bottom left of your display picture, and clicking send webcam. Or, if you wish to have a video call (where you can see eachother and hear eachother) there is an icon along the top of the chat window and one which looks like a computer with a phone over it, click this and click call computer. Your all set and ready to go (:
