Wedding Decorations?

Question

I have a wedding coming up soon ... And I need some ideas for decorations for the reception ..I had something like this in mind :

But What should I do to keep the balloons up like that? What are things do I need? Any ideas.. Or Suggestions would help alot.

That looks like helium filled balloons attached to a fishing line.  Word of warning though, latex helium balloons only last about 8-10 hours (sometimes a lot less), so if you have a decoration like that, it will ned to be assembled at the last minute.  Do you want to worry about that when youshould be getting ready for your wedding?  Hire someone to do it.

DONT THINK IN TERMS OF HELIUM...JUST BLOW THEM UP REGULAR AND LIKE THE OTHER POST SAID USE FISHING LINE OF DIFFERENTS LINKS TO TIE THEM TO THE CEILING.  ALSO, ANOTHER REALLY GOOD IDEA IS TO LEAVE A DISPOSABLE CAMERA AT EVERY TABLE... SOME OF YOUR GUEST COULD HAVE A BETTER EYE AND ANGLE OF A GREAT PORTRAIT THAN YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER, PLUS MEMORIES FOR EVERYONE. DONT FORGET THE FLOWERS BUT IF YOU USE WHITE LIKE IN THE PICTURE I THIS WHITE ROSES AND LILLIES TOGETHER MAKE AN AWSOME BOQUET.

Balloons are helium filled and yes fishing line, but it has dots where your are supposed to attach the balloons, so the finished product looks evenly spaced like the picture.  Corners are the same type of rods used for pop-up tents, with veil coverings.

All products can be rented/bought at party stores.  Balloons can be done late evening before or preferably morning of wedding.  Helium is a gas that slowly dissipates and the balloons will droop if done too early.  It is best to have a reputable company set this up, as while it looks easy, it takes practise (many burst balloons!) to get the balloons uniform in size.  Too many amateurs can also waste a lot of time doing the 'mickey mouse' voice thing with the helium causing delays or worse an unfinished product because of helium miscalculation!

Ballons can be beautiful at a wedding.  But ... do it elegantly!  

2 Tips:

Use beaded garland for the string.  You can find tons of colors and styles at http://www.decoratingstudio.com/Wedding_...

- be sure to use one of the Romance styles that aren't heavy and won't weigh down the balloons.

2nd Tip:  Neutral is elegant in balloons.  Colors just are not.  Keep your balloons white or ivory and add your wedding colors in the beaded garland that you use down the string of the balloon.

I think it would be a beautiful and a very affordable way to add a lot of impact!
