Would you use a wedding planner for the finer details in your wedding? Im thinking of getting one, just because the hall i have booked for the reception offers no staff so i need someone there to make sure the candles are lit etc for our arrival, do you think this is a good idea or should i ask a family member? I dont want to ruin the experience for anyone though and maybe a wedding planner could also oversea the caterer, band etc as there is nobody else to do this job? What are your thoughts?

  1. Personally I wouldn't use one and I didn't for my wedding. I didn't want anyone taking over! I'm not really a control freak you know, just wanted to organise it all myself so the only person to blame if it went wrong was me!

I think it's down to personal choice - I don't like being told what to do and from my point of view this is how some of these wedding planners come across, they seem to forget it's not their big day and I've heard stories where they have bullied brides into having stuff that they don't want.

  2. I can see why you are asking this question, however, a wedding planner will charge you a great deal to do that. Have you considered hiring someone just for the day to fulfil this specific role? I'll bet that there is someone you know who will know of a reliable person who would be happy to help for a small fee.

  3. I understand what you mean, im not getting married until aug 2009 but already people are saying ill do this that and the other but i dont want them to i want people to enjoy with me, if you can afford it go for it. do your research properly and make sure your v v comfortable with your choice

    Good luck x
