Wedding R.S.V.P. Question?

This may sound a little particular or dumb lol, but I got a wedding invitation for an acquaintance. We're supposed to write our names & then check "will attend" or "will not attend". Where we write our names should I say "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" or should I write our first names like "John & Jane Smith"? Which would be the proper way to do it? Thanks!

  1. Full names so the bride & groom can put your full names on the table seating cards!  Have fun!!!

  2. I would put Mr and Mrs John Smith.

I am sure that's how they addressed the envelope

  3. They know if you're married; just write "John and Jane Smith".

  4. Hi.  Really it's either!!

If they provided the line, such as:

    M__________________________

then you can go ahead and write in Mr. and Mrs. John Smith.

If they simply provided a blank line with no "M", then write in:

    John and Jane Smith.

Either way is appropriate and correct.

  5. I would put your first names...this reduces any confusion. I'm sure they KNOW both of your names...but it is easier to just have it right there...say for making place cards? And if you have a common last name, it helps.

  6. It really doesnt matter as long as they know it is you rsvping.  From someone who is currently getting her rsvps back for her wedding, it is reeally frustrating when people do nt write their names and you have an rsvp of 3 and have no idea who it is!  Or some just dont send it back at all! lol

  7. Typically there is an M______________________________

at the beginning of the name line.  If that's the case, do write Mr. and Mrs. Smith.  If not, you can write it any way you wish.

  8. my wedding etiquette book says the proper way is to put first and last names of both guests that will attend. the bride and groom will have a place card with your name on it at the reception so you know where to sit, so they want to know your first and last name to put on there, so they don't have to write "mrs smith" on it

  9. I would wrie " John and Jane Smith"  because   IF you have a common last name, They might confuse you for someone else.   Just to be sure they knows its you comming,  i would use first names.

  10. If their is an M at the beginning of the line that you should write Mr. or Mrs.  But honestly, as a recent bride, it's not really going to matter as long as it's clear who the rsvp card is coming back from.  The important thing is to send back the response card.  Or if some reason you really aren't sure what's happening by the requested date given on the card to try to contact the bride and groom and let them know what's happening.  About half of our guests never replied to the invitation and had to be tracked down to find out what was happening.  So as long as you do that, you're ahead of the game.
